Report of the ACIV meeting on January 21, 2026
Opening
Jack Beckstein opens the meeting and welcomes everyone. The meeting will be conducted in three
languages, with each topic and question being translated.
Treasurer’s Report
On January 1st 2025, the association’s balance was €4,467.57. The fees paid by the residents
amounted to €760. The largest expense was for repairing the duck pool: €1,804.44. Other expenses
included the signs announcing the nudist nature of the monkey rock bathing area: €253, and
amounts were allocated for repairing the buoys and ropes in the monkey rock area.
With all of this, the current balance is €2,898.53. These accounts have been audited by two
residents, who found an error of €10 in the totals, so the balance as of today is €2,908.53. We start
2026 with a reasonable amount for both ongoing activities and projects we may develop.
Activities in the past year
− Repairs on the monkey rock stairs and the line in the sea.
− Closure of the “bungalows” on Calle Seifío: thanks to the persistence of some residents, the
Ayuntamiento finally took action and closed the bungalows in order to eliminate the health
hazard that existed in those abandoned houses. The Ayuntamiento is working to obtain the
necessary documents from the owner and whatever else is needed so that these houses can be
completely demolished.
− Cleaning and maintenance of the duck pond is underway, many thanks to Johnny Sköld for his
initiative. Thanks to the residents who helped and contributed. Johnny provided an explanation
about the project, for which we thank him again.
− The village festival in October was a great success. Many thanks to Birgit Damer for organizing it.
− Discussed with the Ayuntamiento and awaiting execution:
• improvement of the Avenida Conde Robayna
• repair of the walls around the duck pond
• repair of the damage to the street asphalt
Election of the new committee
A group of six people has been nominated to form the new committee: Asun Garcia Carpintero,
Birgit Damer, Elisa Gasca Pérez, Jorge Enríquez, David Pérez, and Diego Fernandez Raboso. Birgit and
David introduce the members of the new committee and provide a brief explanation of their plans:
registering the association, applying for a CIF number, opening a bank account, obtaining grants and
reorganizing communication with the residents. The roles are distributed as follows:

− Elisa Gasca Pérez – Secretary
− Jorge Enríquez – Communications
− Diego Fernandez Raboso – Advisory member
The meeting is asked to approve the new committee and it is approved unanimously.
Questions and closure
We were recently contacted by Franz Josef Schraven, who presented a project proposal aimed at
making Charco del Palo CO2 neutral, with its own water and electricity supply. The idea is to
organize a separate meeting in the near future, where Franz Josef can explain his ideas and answer
the residents’ questions. A document with summarized information has been distributed.

Residents’ Meeting
The annual meeting with residents is scheduled for January 21st at 5 pm. It will take place in the Centro Comercial. In principle, the following topics are covered:
- Opening
- Treasurer’s report

- As reported by email on December 30, six people have come forward as candidates to form the new committee as a group, namely: Asun Garcia Carpintero, Birgit Damer, Elisa Gasca Perez, Jorge Enríquez, David Perez, and Diego Fernández Raboso. Since there have been no other candidates, the meeting is asked to approve the appointment of this group.

Dear residents,
On November 1st, you received a message in which we reported that a large part of the current committee will resign. As mentioned, Asun Garcia Carpintero (the current treasurer) is available for a new term. We have invited interested residents to apply for a newly formed committee. Several people responded to this call, making the following individuals available to form a new committee for the upcoming three-year term:

- Diego Fernández Raboso
- Birgit Damer
- Jorge Enríquez
- David Pérez
These six persons are currently working on forming a group to put themselves forward as candidates for a new committee.

During the annual residents’ meeting, the election of a new committee is one of the agenda items. This meeting will take place on January 21, 2026, at 17:00 hrs in the Centro Comercial. The agenda will be sent out shortly.
Dear residents,
At the end of this year, the three-year term of our committee will come to an end. Five of the six committee members will have served two terms, that is six years, by that time. One member has been active for two years. To safeguard the interests of our village as effectively as possible in the coming years, we consider it prudent to aim for a new composition. A new group brings fresh blood and can carry out its tasks with new insights. Of the current committee, Jack Beckstein (president), Antonio Bravo (vice president), Eric Klekamp (secretary), Marco Moeschlinn (advisor), and Klaus Knoepfel (vice treasurer) are no longer eligible for re-election. Asun Garcia – Carpintero (treasurer) is available for a new term.
At the next annual meeting with residents, a new committee will be elected. The new committee must consist of at least 5 people, namely a President, a Vice President, a Secretary, a Treasurer, and a Supporting/Advisory member. The working language of the committee is Spanish, but considering the international character of our village, some knowledge of English and German is important. Dear residents,
The maintenance of the duck pond has been a problem for some time now. Despite several cleaning efforts in the past by a group of residents and occasional assistance from the Ayuntamiento in the form of materials, thorough maintenance including painting is urgently needed again. Our resident Johnny Sköld has developed a plan for a systematic approach to the maintenance. The plan provides for the purchase of materials (a heavy pump, stainless steel nozzles, hoses, rubber sealing balloons, etc.) with which the duck pond can be closed off and emptied. By investing in these materials, we will be able to carry out the maintenance ourselves in the coming years when it is needed. A well-maintained duck pond is not only pleasant to use but also contributes to the image and appearance of Charco del Palo.
After consultation with the committee Johnny has already made the purchase and he has covered the investment of several thousands of euros himself. Our committee supports this initiative and will contribute €1,500 from the association’s funds. Additionally, the Ayuntamiento will contribute in the form of materials.

Dear residents, Now we need help from all of you!
Help is needed for the big clean of the Duck Pond on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th of October, from sunrise. Due to many bigger stones we need to do the first big clean by hand – with spades.
Anyone that has spades, brooms and wheelbarrow – please bring it. We also have some spades, gloves and equipment for the ones who don’t have any. We will transport the sand and stones out of the pond and away with a front loader excavator that is rented for this weekend.We will empty the water in the pool on Friday evening so that we can start to remove sand and stones Saturday at sunrise.
