The year has started well in Charco. Lots of sun and lots of happy tourists. Familiar faces of people who spend the colder months here. January and February are the coldest months. Evenings and nights are quite cool. Wearing a sweater helps and sometimes we use a heater. It remains too dry, occasionally a little rain and there is some green here and there, but there are not many flowers now: too little water. The water temperature was this month even 20.6 degrees. Other years around 19 in January but the last days it is going down and feels a bit more cold, but still around 20 degrees.

Lanzarote is full of surprises: we were in Órzola and discovered another beautiful stretch of nature that we had never seen before. See ‘Walks’. And in the local fish shop in Haria we saw impressive fish that we had never seen in a fish shop before.
La Morena, fruto del mar. A delicacy??

CHARCO DAILY LIFE

Two worlds meet
Simple nude Charco and an exclusive clothing brand.
One afternoon when we came back from a walk we were startled by a number of trucks in front of our door. Four large ones and some small ones. Including a generator and a clothing and toilet trailer. There was also a catering tent. It turned out to be a photo shoot for an Italian/French clothing and bag brand.  BOTTEGA VENETA.  A model was photographed with a bag. About thirty staff in black suits walked around it. Friendly Italian people with cameras, headphones and laptop's. We were not allowed to take pictures of the model because it turned out to be about something new that was not yet allowed to be announced. We found the brand on the website. They have eight hundred bags, some costing 6,700 pounds, dresses 13,600 pounds, shoes from 890 pounds, etc. So we entered the world of high society for a moment. A few hours passed, but when they blocked early next morning the entire street and our gate again, we were not so happy. As a result, they later went to the parking lot at Centro Comercial. After a few days they left and Charco was Charco again. What a relief that we don't need anything that make us look better. We are just NATURAL The way it should be.

WALKS ‘Secret Orzola’ (a short but fascinating walk)

We have been coming to Lanzarote for 15 years now but were once again surprised by something we had never seen before. At Orzola in the north there is a beautiful beach left of the village.

Route – when you are in Orzola, take the first road on the left past the supermarket. Follow the sandy path to a parking lot near the beach. Wonderful for sunbathing or swimming.

On the left side of the beach there is a special place behind the rocks. However, you can only reach it at low tide. The ‘tide times’ App indicates exactly when it is low tide. Get there early. Then you walk around the rocks and behind them is a beautiful rock formation with a small cave. We were amazed. A ‘piece of otherworldly beauty’. You find yourself in a different world for a moment. Beautiful colours and rock/sand formations. When we were there, a team of cleaners was busy clearing away rubbish. We were amazed at the large amount of waste they removed from there. It was a cheerful group who sacrificed themselves to do a clean up somewhere on the island in their spare time. Their website shows where this takes place.

You can join without obligation. It only takes a few hours and is very satisfying.

When the water started to rise quickly, we walked back via the sand path to green waste containers. Behind these there is a path that slopes upwards up the mountain. This path can be followed for several hundred meters. You will come across a notch in the rocks with beautiful orange colours. The water runs off the mountains there when it rains. Then a short distance until the path stops. This is a short walk but fascinating with fine views. Another side of Orzola. Enjoy.

TANTRA

Naturism is about being naked with respect for nature. We have provided Tantra courses for years. It touches on wanting to be natural. Many Tantrists are also naturists, have no problem being naked and meet to enjoy massages, dance, energy exercises and letting life energy flow. There are many views on Tantra. I’m going to try to give a short impression of the way I feel about it.

For me, Tantra is the high school of love. When I met my current partner King, my life was turned upside down. I thought I had seen everything when it came to sexuality and relationships. But he asked me what I felt and what I wanted and liked. I discovered that I had inhibitions and taboos. Step by step we discovered each other and I was able to push my boundaries. More in contact with my feelings, more enjoyment of togetherness and sexuality because it is no longer about ‘lust or achieving an orgasm’ but about letting my energy flow and feeling more from the heart, which I really want and need. For me it was a path of development towards freedom and enjoying all aspects of life because I can let it in more. Discovering that I can respect anyone in daily encounters because I no longer have judgments about how someone should be. The uniqueness of anyone is a like a present to experience. I wrote an eBook about this, which is now available in English. It is my personal account about my development, work and information about Tantra and Taoism. I’m going to include up a few fragments in this newsletter.

I am what I am not allowed to be

Where I originated from, sex, is a taboo

A denial of my existence

Not allowed really

I do want it

A motive that drives me

An expedition that never ends

Experiences that I want to share

A path into myself

In connection with you

Only possible when I open myself

Dare share my feelings

Dare break taboos

Explore unknown paths

And have the courage to BE myself

Will you join me?

A chapter on naturism:

BEING NAKED  /Naturism (when I was 33 years old)

My new partner is a naturist. He enjoys the sun on his entire body. I also love sunbathing and do not really like those white areas under my bikini. So I reluctantly undress, hesitant at first but then I experience a feeling of liberation. The wind caresses my skin; I feel the sun all over me. And in the water, so soft, so engrossing and so natural. Who on earth has decided to wear a swimsuit? Put things on when you want to be in the sun or swim? So from now on no more wet swimming gear but just be naked. I enjoy my body more and more. Dare to go bare. I discover that beauty is not something on the outside; it’s about accepting myself, daring to show myself, despite pimples, spots and small breasts! When I accept myself, the outside world will follow. Again the outside world is always the mirror that shows me how I see myself.

Helping each other like we do in Charco

Here a message from two Friends of us :

Hola we are Inga (56) & Elska (39) two Dutch women from the Netherlands, we live and work for more than 2 years on Lanzarote. Due to circumstances we lost everything. At the moment we are living in a very small tent. We are looking for a place where we can put our big tent, if you have or know a solution where it’s allowed we love to hear from you. Or do you know a place/house that’s temporarily empty or not used we can take care of? We can make a contract that we leave within a month if needed.
Besides that we are looking for a place to stay we also love to work, preferably in Charco del Palo.
Our qualities are high-end cleaning, we can manage your business or event -do the booking and administration-, hospitality, photography, take care of your social and digital work.
We also can take care for your pets, house or garden. We can watch your house when you are not there, clean it and do some basic maintenance. Possibly in exchange for living there temporarily.
Love to hear from you!  0031 618525178

From Charco ‘un abrazo ‘
You hear from me next month. Tineke
